Urgent advice needed for HID ballast replacement!
Hi all my ballast has failed due to moisture in the headlight, I found another one online but don't know if they are compatible. The plugs and pins look the same but that is as far as my knowledge goes regarding these things and the part numbers differ. It is also from a pre facelift W204 and mine is a 08 W204. Can anyone assist me in making the right call to buy this one. Thanks
This is the ballast for sale with different number.

Installed the new ballast and light is working fine but getting an active lighting inoperable error message on the dash now. Would the ecu need to be reset or could it be some hardware problem? Not much help on the interweb with regards to this.

I think you need to make the picture in your sig bigger. I can't quite make out what's going on there.

The ballasts are NOT necessarily 100% compatible between cars as far as FULL functionality goes...they should ALL physically light up your D1S low beam, H7 high beam, turn signals and eyebrows but as you found out the ALS functionality may not be present....if you open up your bad ballast you will see that it is not like other HID ballasts that are strictly for lighting off the hid bulb but that there is actually a very complex processor board that found inside...and with this being said there is no guarantee that the new one will have the ALS components.... BUT AGAIN, they will ALL physically work ALL of the actual light producing components inside your headlight
