How reinstall plastic door pins?

Hello Emkovich,
The front pins simply screw on to the plastic stub but the back ones are more complex. They have a grove on the bottom that fits over the stub which has a fixed flared ring on it. You have to remove the rear door panel to access the door pin so that you can carefully expand the stock plastic pin to slide over the stub. To remove the door panel, first use a 27 TORX bit to remove the two bolts located in the arm rest. Then use a screw driver at the bottom of the panel (cover the blade so it doesn't scratch the paint) and pry it so you can get your fingers between the panel and door. Then start pulling so that the clips come out. Work your way around the door panel until they are all loose then pull it up to remove it from the top of the door. There is a cable for the lock actuator so be careful as to not pull up too hard. After that you have access to the door lock pin.
Just out of curiosity, why do you want to replace the stock pins? Why not go with the AMG pins? That's what I did and they look much better. Good luck!
