Drag Racing / Quarter Mile Advice

Hey guys, thinking of hitting the local drag strip here this upcoming Friday. Car is a 14 C63 Sedan, no LSD, with Eurocharged V5 / ROW / Afe Filters / Secondary Cat Delete. Have brand new 19" wheels with 245/35 & 275/30 Hankook Evo V12s. With traction control off, the car dead hooks even from 1st gear rolls, but I'm sure it'll light them up from a launch.

Do you guys have tips/tricks for launching on street tires with this car? Also, should I leave it in S+ mode, or is Manual going to get me a better time / trap speed?

Any tips would be great! Hoping to crack a high 11!

If running the street tires skip the burn out box there is not much of a need to heat them up, the burn out could glaze the tire and make you run slower,

Drive around the water box if street tires. Water will get caught in the tread and guarantee you a **** launch. It's meant for slicks. Just do a big burnout in front of it, dry.

When the first yellow drops, floor the gas while still on the brake. Release within 2sec or you'll bog and get ready to shift to 2nd. Run in 'Sport' traction mode.

Without an LSD, chances are you will be hard pressed to hit mid 12's. The LSD would allow for much harder launches and much quicker 60-ft times which is key to a good time.
But use the MB's launch system and have fun.

Thanks for the tips thus far!

@BLKROKT, ok so I will have traction in S mode, but what about shifting? Should I do S+ or Manual? Anyone have an idea which is better with a tuned C63?

Anybody use the RS, or will it just spin the tires bad?

Manual

RS sucks (except the noise it makes is great for scaring the wife). Heat up your tires real good, powerbrake until the revs stop climbing, and release. Get ready to shift it comes up quick.

Is it worth it to deflate tires to 25psi or so with street tires? Will it help traction?

My best run was in S+ and a full cooler of drinks in the trunk (don't ask). Give all the modes a try and have fun! Take some videos from the stands.
