New Member: My first AMG :)
I've kind of been lurking this forum to get the culture here and an idea of who's who (hehe) and I've come to noticed a lot of members from Canada eh?
Ok, bad intro, but anyways I've had "Bianca" for 3 months now coming from a pretty well built E92 M3 and I must say this has got to be THE most fun I've ever had in a car!
I've included a few pics of the day I first picked her up at the dealer and up to this past weekend for a spirited run up in the mountains
2012 Magnetite Black (CPO) with 40k miles. I've done some work with her and I'd say only things left to do are ROW boxes, H&R springs and some LTH.
Glad to be a part of the AMG community!

Nice car.... and nice mods.
How do you feel the ride is with the H&R springs?
I have got them springs and still contemplating changing to coilovers to make the ride as bit softer. I find the H&R springs do reduce bod roll but the ride is a tad bit harder....

Thank you!
I haven't got them yet, because like you I still am trying to determine if springs will be good for daily driving or coils. I've had KW V3's on my M3, but I occasionally tracked that car, this one will be mostly spirited driving.
Yea, we actually messaged each other about it and although very similar, I don't think they are the same set.
Thanks! I have to say some of my inspiration for mods came from pics of yours
I'm not exactly sure, other than they fit perfect and look very flush. I bought them from a member here and spent a good chunk of change to get them looking just right and how I wanted them.
Yup, there is still like a 10% chance it could be the same haha

My wheels were fun and looked great, but one was slightly bent causing the hardware holding them together to snap while driving. I didn't want to put all the money into them that it would cost to fix them up so I let them go just after I sold my first c63.

Much appreciated!
Dammit! My wheels were originally with a polished lip too. The only thing is the concavity and rear lip on your wheels looks much deeper than mine, but everything else looks damn near identical.
Thank you for the kind words! Glad to be here
They are ADV10 TF's (trak function). These are them again which I bought from this person (not acute but the car owner) who bent a wheel and then upon fixing had the lips painted gloss black. But this picture really shows you what kind of lip we are talking about on these bad boys.

^You have my wheels. If they were polished at one point there is no doubt in my mind that you have them.
When they were painted black it made it look like they weren't as deep, it's just your eyes and brain playing tricks on you. You can always re-barrel them and keep the machined or polished lip and keep the faces the way they are but it isn't cheap and it sounds like you just had them redone anyways.

Actually, nevermind... I had exposed hardware and you don't have expose hardwared. So they are different.
Crazy.

Thank you for this, I've been wondering about the history of these wheels. Anyway you can PM what they retailed for brand new?

Welcome! This is my 2nd C63 (had a 2009 sedan before) and i also just jumped into a 2012 magnetite black c63 but mine's a coupe. Kind of funny to read because i just sold my ESS supercharged VT2-625 and jumped into this car.

So, I've got to ask what I'm sure most people wanna know, how is the power so far compared to your SC M3 and what are your plans for this C63?

What's up man! Wow, I looked over your build thread and what a monster! I've done most of what you've done minus the 625 kit. Love your plates "SUPGRL" haha. I ordered the legacy plate "GOODMPG" but it's taking forever here in cali.

I'm also curious to hear how does the facelift MCT c63 compare in speed with the older 09 with both on same tune/mods?

My 2011 E92 M3
-ACM EXHAUST MOD
-ACM TEST PIPES
-DCT TUNE
-KW V3's
-MICHELIN PSS 255/19 X 285/19
My 2012 C63
-2ND CAT DELETE
-EC V5 TUNE
-MICHELIN PSS 245/19 X 265/19
M3's transmission obviously shifts lightning quick (esp w tune) BUT it does't have the TREMENDOUS bark and crackle like the MCT does. Undoubtedly, stock for stock the M3 trans shifts quicker and smoother
The M3's as most people know redline's at 8300 RPM and with a tune can go up to 8600 RPM, but most power is above 4000 RPM. The C63 is like "F$%# RPM, I MAKE POWER IN ANY RANGE" and is ***** to the wall fast and snarling and just makes a gawd damn scene under WOT. The M3 was more sophisticated and finessed but it could definitely scream if you had enough ground to unwind it. C63 is hands down the faster car in a straight line.
The rest of the typical comparisons are pretty close and I also don't have the time to write about. MPG is roughly the same, DD comfort, M3 was less harsh, maintenance is similar, etc...
I will say there is a huge fear of the rod bearings causing engine failure in the S65, but I can't say it's that prevalent. Probably similar to the PFL M156 headbolt issues.
All in all, both are awesome cars that do the same thing in different fashion. One thing that the M3 can't even come close to is the GAWD DAMN GLORIOUS EXHAUST NOTE on the C63!!

Thanks for the awesome comparison review.
Just a question regarding the DD comfort. Are you saying m3 is less harsh because it was on kW v3 or are you comparing suspensions stock to stock?
My only complaint with my 13 p31 is that it's too harsh on the bumps for DD otherwise it's pretty much a perfect sedan IMO.
