C63 in a Tunnel

I used to do that a lot with the stock exhaust. Now with headers I can't do it with the windows down. It hurts! Last time I tried i thought I gave myself a traumatic brain injury.

Have you heard them in person brah? Because I have, brah. And unless you have then you really don't understand what it does to the car, brah. It really is obnoxious brah. But brah, you get some decent power out of them. Only good thing brah.

It's a matter of personal taste, really. But in my opinion they do ruin the car and how many times do you see threads pop up "Uh, how do I quiet down these headers?" People find the gain in performance not to be worth it because of the sound.
And then when I finally heard them in person it was awful.

I like my setup I think it's perfect (for me at least). Stock when cruising and normal driving. Aggressive when on it. I have cats and an xpipe also. Maybe that makes a difference in the sound also? But everyone is different. You can hear how quiet it gets after the tunnel. It's like driving a stock sounding car. Zero drone. It's loud when you want it to be. Quiet when you want it to be.

^Cats is the difference.
I suppose I'll clarify and say *catless headers end up ruining the car

LTH with high flow cats and an X-pipe to the stock mufflers is the perfect combination IMO. Sounds amazing. If I had to do it again, I probably would have kept the resonators on, maybe. But I LOVE the way the car sounds now. As long as you don't drive like a dick all the time, the car sounds great. Like it should. Car was WAY too quiet with the stock manifolds, sounds like a vaccum cleaner in comparison. I'd NEVER go back - you'll have to pry my LTH out of my cold dead hands.

I love my catless LTH/x-pipe combo. It's not bad just puttering around. Moderate throttle from 3-4k sounds mean, but you can tell there's more to give. And when needed, a quick WOT burst will make anyone think twice about what they have under their hood.
I was on the phone with my dad (drives a W211 E550) driving home from work one night. And this 5.0 mustang kept bugging me on the freeway. He kept revving and doing slowish ricer flybys. I had cruise set and was in the middle lane going about 10 over on an empty freeway when I couldn't take it any longer. I told my dad to hold a sec and didn't even come out of C mode and just matted it to about the top of 3rd and then reset my cruise to my original speed. Needless to say he dropped back and left me alone. LTHs become your "f*ck off" when you need them.

Absolutely agree. If I need to let someone know what's up, a little "headers music" with a shift right about the time I reach their drivers window..... well they'll never forget that. One of my track buddies, who loves loud cars, told me in all seriousness to never do that to him again.

I mean, these cars with secondary cats / res deletes have plenty give off plenty of an eff off vibe.
Again, it's all a matter of personal taste. But you guys see it too when people come in here searching for ways to quiet down catless LTH setups. After hearing them myself I just caution a little bit more heavily towards not doing it to the car.

Absolutely. I definitely agree. Go find someone with headers if you can. There was definitely about a month when I hated my car. Now I'm used to it and maybe even think it's still a little too quiet at part throttle. Haha. Too many LSX and Coyote cars around here that let off a nice growl at part throttle and a lope at idle. Obviously DOHCs don't lope like an OHV motor. I just wish I had more of that deep burbly idle. I just need an LT4...that doesn't break. Haha.

But in all seriousness, LTH C63's around my parts get nothing but very positive comments. And they are "normal" volume at a normal cruise, hammer down on the right foot and the beast awakes.

I wish they were louder, but some people want it more on the tame side I guess......time for a Kia
