Typical transmission service cost?

I am about to hit 40k and I know transmission service is coming up.

So today I went to the dealer to get an oil change since I was being lazy and they told me $470 for transmission service. I read the transmission service should be $250 what have you guys recently paid?

I also paid $140 for an oil change what do you guys typically pay?

$470 seems pretty good, actually. I was quoted about that much from an indy shop, but they were including the rear diff fluid change too.

$470 sounds about right for a dealer, including fluids filter and labor etc. Indy price would be around $300. I also paid around $140 at the dealer for oil changes + visual inspection.

What? Isn't it like 6 quarts of fluid and requires a fill at temperature and what not with the MCT trans? I was charged $500 for it. $279 seems like a steal.

I inquired about transmission service from a dealer a few months ago and was quoted:
$495 for transmission service
$225 for rear diff service

This is for a 2011, and the price is in Canadian dollars.

$225 rear diff. Wtf. It takes almost no time at all to do the fluid swap once it's on the lift. They would be double billing time if your doing both at the same time. In a garage it takes about 30 min to do the diff and The fluid is not expensive.

Probably quoted separately as if I were going in twice. It is a dealer after all haha

i always quote separately, Because if then end up coming in and only wanting 1 service they are going to say you quoted me this price for it on the phone.

I was quoted $400 out the door for trans and $98 out the door for dif (w/ LSD) from a very respected indy shop here in FL.

That seems reasonable.

Does that include gaskets, oil, etc, or is it just the labor?

Google map shows your location at the AAMCO Transmission shop. Is that where you are located? What are your hours? Is an appointment needed?
