Hello,
My 05 Audi A8L W12 has 134K miles and started to become a money pit. I needed to replace it with a daily driver with an AT. I made somewhat of an impulse buy (2012 C63 with P31 and LSD) trading in my A8 after some research on the W204 C63. I've owned ohter German cars but this is my first MB.
I've only had the car for a day and I am impressed with its performance and usability as a DD. I'm still getting used to all the features and I'm still going through the manual. I am looking forward to spending some time on this forum to explore more about the car and learn tips and tricks from other members.
My first research will be how to change the amber front fender markers to clear.

Current:
12 C63 Sedan - Saphire Grey
12 Audit TT RS - Suzuka Grey
08 Audi RS4 - Ibis White
03 911TT - Seal Grey

On the C63 you can access the side marker assembly from under the hood.
From inside the engine bay:
1) you twist out the bulb socket (and replace bulbs to amber if you want)
2) then depress the catch to disconnect the outer piece of the cover assembly from the inside shell - I removed both of these since the new set I ordered came with both pieces.
From both inside and outside:
3) then you have to line up the new outer cover with the inner shell and snap them together - this took me a while for some reason.
4) lastly put the bulb socket back in (edit)
That's it -took me about 10 minutes on the first side, less than 5 on the other.
Realize that the left and right assemblies are not interchangable (they are stereo isomers if you will)
It's a little tight, so I suppose if you have huge hands you may have to go from wheel well. I also don't recomend doing it while the engine is hot.

MTN--Welcome. Keep your 996 for the twisties. The C63 is great but nothing beats a 911 for feel.
My 996 turned into a money pit or I'd still have it. Having said that, I think the C63 beats the 911 in the "bad ***" category. It's a bit of a 'panty-dropper' with the 50-somethings.
Enjoy!
