Strange loss of engine response
Wondering if anyone else experienced this...
I have a 2015 507 coupe, about 3500 miles.
Car is in sport mode and completely warmed up after driving about 45 minutes. I came to a complete stop, then started rolling very slowly waiting for opening in traffic. Road has a very slight incline. Weather has been both hot and cool so does not seem to be related to air temp.
I hit the accelerator and nothing happens or engine revs ever so slightly. After about 5-10 seconds and repeated pumping of accelerator pedal or just letting the car roll a bit, the engine suddenly responds and all is well again.
It's happened about 3-4 times over past few months, always only in same spot on the road, never anywhere else--even if situationally I'm doing the same things (sport mode, rolling slightly, car warmed up). I've tried to intentionally replicate it by doing the same thing in the same spot on the road but I cannot make it happen. It happens randomly--pretty damn scary.
Last episode it felt like the transmission kicked down then the engine responded. When it happens I'm caught off guard and had other cars behind me honking so I'm not paying attention to whether I car was still in 1st gear though it should have been. Did not recall seeing any codes either.
Probably need to take it to the dealership but I worry that they cannot replicate the problem because I've tried and cannot.
Hoping this problem sounds familiar to someone else.

I would think if it was bad gas it would happen in more often and not always in the same place, same street. And the car performs well all other situations.

Transmission clutch not engaging?
Try being in manual at the same spot. (Note that owners manual says you should be stopped before switching to Manual mode).

re-reading your issue, I did have a problem like this on my clk55 W209 car. The throttle body connectors would get loose and get oxidized resulting in a dead pedal situation randomly.
This can also be caused by a bad throttle pedal.
I would see the dealer for any codes.

Do you have an LSD? My Quaife LSD made a huge difference in merging situations. No more power cuts. Have you tried the ECU/TCU reset? You can try this and see if it helps also.
