[Discussion] Why Choose C63
Here's a discussion topic for you guys: Why choose a C63?
Tell us at least 2 things:
1) Other cars you were looking at before you bought your C63
2) Why you chose the C63 over those other cars
And of course feel free to add whatever you want after that.

i was in the market for a used sports coupe, something i can have fun with on the weekends. Cars i was debating between were c63, last gen m3, s5, rs5, 911, cayman, boxster, vantage.
Overall I wanted something low miles so I wouldnt have to worry about too much maintenance so 911/vantage was out. I wanted something super quick and a lot of power so boxster/cayman/s5 was out. M3 are a dime a dozen, interior is too plain, and I hate bmw (funny because I currently own a bmw). S5 was just plain looking, rs5 was nice but couldn't find one I wanted.
In the end, I knew I wanted a c63. Big engine, plenty of power with comfort and luxury of a mercedes. perfect for a weekend sports car.

Drive one, try not to giggle the whole time, then come back and ask this question.

1) Ferrari 360, Porsche 996 Turbo, Porsche 997, Porsche Panamera, E63, S63
2) It was the first one I looked at and I instantly fell in love with that AMG rumble. I didn't even drive the car, he revved it and it was sold. lol
I miss the car a lot.

1) I was all over the map. Initially, I wanted something to replace my STI that was also "practical": S3, Golf R, Focus RS, etc. However, my girlfriend was nice enough to remind me that I didn't need a practical car as we have a TDI for that, so I expanded into fun cars.
I looked at older M5s and M3s, but didn't find anything all that enticing.
2) I'm pretty sure I was driving my girlfriend carzy since every week I changed my mind about what car I wanted. On a whim, I looked at C63s. I've wanted a C63 since I first heard one. I was told to just "buy the car I want and stop changing my mind", so I bought a C63.

Because had an Audi S4 and E90 M3 - M3 is a better car for some uses (track especially) C63 is a better car for driving my kids around and commuting in while still being able to have some fun. S4 just isn't in the same class by a mile, glad to have gotten rid of it!
But mostly just the sound made me buy it!

Wanted a fast sedan so I could carry my 2 year old around. Coming from a 2012 SRT8 Challenger.
Budget <$50k
What I looked at: All used
Lexus ISF
BMW M3
BMW M5
Cadillac CTS V
MB C63
MB E63
After looking at all of these and reading forums of 'common issues' and threads like 'what do you wish you bought instead' I decided on an AMG. It was a tough choice between the C and E class. Obviously the E would be more family friendly but I didnt feel like it was as sporty as the C. So I found a 2014 C63 online, flew out on a saturday morning, bought it and drove 12 hours home. Love the car and have 0 doubts that I got the right vehicle. I love it more every day.
1 month later I bought a minivan for family/dog/highway duty to keep my Mercedes clean

I am currently in the Market for a car. I want a 4 door sedan with luxury and power. I started looking at Subaru WRX, then Hyundai Gensis, Lexus ISF, Porsche, and then BMW M3/M5 and finally came to the C63. I like it because it has all the utility of a 4 door but is ferociously fast. I only wish it had it had a manual transmission I think its the biggest draw back. My plan is to purchase one in the spring.
This is the video that turned me on to the C63. I really liked TopGear and Jeremy Clarkson. " This is just an Ax Murderer with headlights and I absolutely adore it" C63 starts at 1.10

I was looking for something to replace my 3000GT. Was wanting more power and something different. After looking at Jags, Lexus, Porsche, Maserati, and some others, I saw a video on Youtube about a C63 (no idea at the time what it was). I have heard about AMG beforehand but always thought those line of cars were way outside of my reach. Did more research, watched way too many videos, then just couldn't get it out of my head. The price, power, aggressive look, was one of the best bang/buck I thought. This was the video that turned me onto the C63.

Haha guys, its just a discussion! It's not like I'm saying one car is better than the other, I just want to see what went through your minds when looking through cars.
S/O to the guy above for the top gear episode, I post that all the time in these threads lol.
Were there any big downsides to the M5's/ISF's? They are also 4 door and have plenty of power.

The ISF was a great car its just not on the same level of the C63 in terms of luxury and looks. You can tell its still a Japanese car with a large motor.. meaning rather boring but quick. During the test drive I did have someone in a newer GTO challenge me on the hwy and after the salesmen gave the nod I showed him my tail lights.

Were you on the 3SI forum?
I used to have a fairly extensively modded Stealth TT (basically same as the VR4). I had loads of fun with that car.
Love my C63 as well. I first saw one at a dragstrip. It was almost a brand new car (stock) and it impressed me the way it ran and sounded.
Remember saying some day I want one of those!

How about against the W205? I have my personal opinions on this but I'd like to hear yours. I understand price/year difference but if we disregard those things, what would you prefer to choose?

Once again, that's just my opinion. Opinions are like azzholes, everyone has one.
edit** I bought my car without ever driving one before. Aside from me not use to small cars, it blew all my expectations.
