Steering wheel can't move up/downward...

Just realize this problem today. The steering wheel adjustment can't move up/downward instead of front and backward. Since my car is out of warranty and any DIY suggestion here?

Nice find Mort. In addition to that fix, sometimes the entry/exit convenience feature just stops working, along with the up/down adjustment. No clicking, no movement, nothing. I had this happen twice now, and the 'fix' had to do with the control box under the drivers seat (or loose connectors).

Im OP in the other thread. Im going to throw an update note in there now, that I forgot to add.

In that case, you could hear the motor turning and there was a clunk clunk clunk sound, but with no action. Thats
cos the motor was turning but the broken flex shaft wasn't. Not sure if you have a similar thing or if your wheel is just dead.
