Am I nuts?? (Trying again in the right place ;)
Hi Folks!
So new member here, but long time lurker (mostly to the platform) and veteran to German cars. I currently own a B5 S4, which has been the love of my life since purchasing it back in 2006 (it only has 47k on the clock!), but I had the pleasure of attending a couple AMG Drive Events back in ’08, ’09, and ’11 and have been obsessed with the C63 since (although, the E, S, and CLS were impressive in their own right). But, as much as I’ve tried to baby and maintain my S4 over the years, she’s really starting to show her age lately and it’s time to move on...
SO, here’s what I’m looking for:
• Used, maybe POC if the price is decent (is this really worth it though??)
• 2012-2014 model, but really only 2014’s…
• Sedan only (need room for the baby seat, hello??)
• Opal Fire Red obviously, but how do you say “unicorn” in Z-Deustsche? Soooo, Diamond or Polar White preferably, but will settle for Iridium Silver if needed (My S4 is black… Won’t do that again in FL)
• >20k mi
• P31 a must (507 edition would be nice, but not required)
• LSD if possible, but can install WAVETRAC later if needed
• Black leather seats (with Dinamica suede inserts if possible) and piano black trim
• Non-smoker, non-dog owner
• NOT tracked
• Preferrably unmolested
• Regular maintenance, obviously
• Warranty/Recall items addressed
• Mid-$40k’s if possible… Sound reasonable?
I’m not super in-love with the factory stickers, but this example meets most my criteria (assuming I can work the sale price a bit ; )… Any thoughts/impressions? Price sound fair?
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...9352/overview/
And besides here, Autotrader, Cars, or eBay, are there any other good resources I could keep an eye on? Or other tips or advice?
TIA!

Just look in the classified section.

heres a good one, take it before its gone.
mid 40's will be somewhat difficult for a 2014 imo, but others here are more versed in the pricing of this car. As TP said, use the search and place it just to the classified area. You'll see some pop up every so often.

^Thanks. Yeah, I saw that ad, and as amazing as that car is, it's a bit too modded for my taste. I tend to prefer a blank slate when buying used.

not visually modded. You get the power with the plain jane look.

Love the sleeper-effect, but again: I like completely stock examples so I can tweak & mod to my taste... That's the whole fun of it, right?

I guess, but everyone wants to FI their m156. So why not buy it when somebody already has done the leg work and financial aspect of it. I mean, how else are you going to modify the engine? Turbo it??? Only one guy I know of that has a turbo setup and I'm sure it cost him almost as much as the damn car once everything was said and done.

Yeah, I guess some folks get jaded sooner than others. I'm still on stock turbos with my S4 and the car is surprisingly fast with just some bolt-ons and a tune. My best dyno was ~330awhp on some of the high-octane stuff, and from what I can tell the C63 is about 100whp more than that out of the box... A bit stronger than your typical stage 3 B5 S4, which is quicker than 99% of the cars you run into on a daily basis.

No, I hear you. IIRC I my peak TQ is at 2500 RPM or something stupid like that... Alas, all of my last three vehicles were FI and I'd like to play NA for a while if I can. I'm not sure all you've done to your car, but I'm willing to bet a full bolt-on C63 is faster than your 335i (assuming it was just bolt-ons as well). And if not, just throw some spray at it and I'm sure it will for sure!
