Does anyone know if the new C63s will be built in the USA

For the ones being delivered to the US, are they going to be built in Alabama?

Just wondering. Obviously, the engine will be from Germany, but what about the rest of the vehicle?

Answer is yes. I remember someone asking that question in one of the AMG PL chat sessions.

I don't know if anyone knows the answer yet but I am sure when they announce the vehicle that question will be answered.

Yes they will.

Motors will be assembled in Germany and shipped to the U.S. in crates.

This has all been confirmed on the AMG Private Lounge, as another poster stated.

What's funny is that BMW builds all of its SUVs here (including the M variants).

They are some of the least problematic and most reliable BMWs on the road.

Rank where you'd like your car assembled:

South Africa
Germany
United States of America
Mexico

Cars.
That means I won't have to wait a month for it on a boat, and there is less if a chance for their to be damage. I'll take it.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Just like the SUVs they will be shipped off to high demand countries such as China, which will slow down the US allocations and deliveries. From what my dealer told me, AMG models Assembled in US need to go through extra QC process, that may slow things down a bit more.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to go through the agonizing wait for this car like I did the M3. It took eight weeks for the car to get to me from the date I ordered the car.

I hope reviews are out by that time at least.

8 weeks? That's not bad at all. The usual timeframe is about 2 months w/Benz. Everyone on the Jag forum is waiting 90 days for their F-Type coupe. Mine came in a month early (60days)...was very happy.

Won't happen. China has their own w205 production in Beijing.

Wait, W205 C63s will be made in the US? Does that mean European Delivery is not an option?

How did you place an order on a c63 already? I currently have a 2014 s4 and have been looking at trading in my fiances c350 and buying a c63. Great excuse to get a new car and she gets an upgrade as well .

My local dealership in Nevada told me I will be waiting ATLEAST a year before the c63 will be available. That's also when he proceeded to tell me that Merc only has a 6% mark-up on their cars and thats ALL, so I lol'ed.

I've bought many cars and have never had a sales person in the middle of the conversation interject the "mark-up" margin out of nowhere haha. I got 9% off msrp on my audi that was not sitting on the lot.

U.S. Delivery lol. You'll also get to meet "Billy Jim Bob" the guy who built your U.S. hand built motor with his plaque on the engine.

If any of this is even remotely true, there's no way MB will hand build the engines outside of Affalterbach. W205 AMGs would have to still be assembled in Germany.

It's already been stated in this thread and on the AMG PL that the engine will be shipped in.

I can second that the PL confirmed the engines would be built in Germany and shipped in crates to the U.S.
