With a little tweaking, that could work.

I was a big critic when I saw that the C Sedan looked exactly like the S Sedan.

However, I would love it if the C Coupe looked exactly like the S Coupe.

That would be awesome if it ended up looking like a baby S-Coupe.

What is the projected time for the C-Coupe's release?

The basic C coupe I'm thinking will be shown in concept form in January at the Detroit show, and the production version in April at the NYC show. Mercedes has stated that they will show a "major design study" in early next year. The AMG coupe would likely come at the Frankfurt auto show in Oct, 1 year from now. Fingers crossed. They have to get this right, the M4 is stunning and the Lexus RC F is interesting also. Then there is the new A/S/RS5 from Audi. We know what the interior will be like, so all we need is the exterior.

Wish the M had the rcf exhaust note! The c coupe could clinche this category as the full package car....

This is the exact timeframe that I've been thinking since earlier this year, except that there has been a complete lack of spy shots of any C coupe test mules, which leads me to believe that it'll be pushed back to Frankfurt for the unveil for the basic C coupe, and LA for the C63 Coupe.

I don't think we'll see the new C-Class coupe until Q3/Q4 2015, with the AMG model following in early-mid 2016. It's very unlikely that MB will release the new C63 sedan and the C63 coupe in the same year. But I do think we'll see the standard C-Class coupe in 2015, just not in AMG form.

The only thing MB needs to worry about in terms of product gap is the M4 and M4 convertible. Rumors of a convertible C63 just started, so we may see MB match all of BMW's M3/4 offerings.

As for the RC-F, the only thing interesting about it is how quickly people will forget about it in a year or two. Unbelievably heavy for a coupe, a dated chassis (compared to BMW and MB), and a recycled 5.0L engine. Based on the poor early reviews, I don't think anyone is worried about the RC-F being competitive against this next generation.

The C63 coupe will be out well before the new S5/RS5. The next-gen B9 A4/S4 hasn't even been revealed, let alone the next-gen A5/S5/RS5 that will ride on the same B9 platform as the A4.

Sorry to say but IMHO that's a pretty bad 'chop job' from the sedan even though it still looks great

Rear quarter panels, glass, roof line and C pillar will be much slicker and more raked and flowing than that and hopefully tail lights get the treatment too then we'll have one stunning AMG

Strangely enough, the C Convertible is the one that has been spotted again and again for the last year or so. I can't see it being the first model out the gate, but one exec did say the Coupe would be introduced a year after the sedan, making it January 2015. We'll see.

The AMG version always follows anywhere from 6-10 months after the base model is introduced. If we see the C Coupe early next year, you better believe that Frankurt will see the AMG version seen. It is the Germans biggest show and they usually stack the deck.

Audi is slow as hell with new models. Once they show it in Europe, it usually takes a whole year to get to the U.S. Audi is just poorly run in that regard. BMW and Mercedes debut a car in Europe and 6-7 months later it is in U.S. dealerships.
