Where not to buy your Benz in Canada

Hello everyone,

I purchased a 2012 C350 Benz today from Thornhill (228 Steels Ave, Toronto, Canada). This is my second Benz purchase. I bought a 2008 C350 in Sept 2011 from Downtown Toronto Benz dealer.

I recently got into an accident and my vehicle is written off. I purchased my first car with extended warranty (3yrs) which was never used.

Now when I bought this new car, the sales personnel did not know anything about extended warranty and the Financial Service manager (Maya Prasad) knows about the extended warranties. So I go there, buy the paint protections and tire protections, etc. and I ask if the unused extended warranty can be transferred over to the new vehicle. She advises me "the extended warranty should be refunded by the insurance company and it is not transferrable." I sign my soul as per her advise and make the deal for the car. As I speak to my insurance, it tells me Extended warranties are not covered for the written off car. I call mercedes customer service, the rep advises me if I had not signed the deal already, the dealership, head office and me could have an arrangement for the extended warranty ( which has been done before by mercedes ). I lost that opportunity because of the lie and lack of knowledge of Maya.

Now if the Financial Service Manager knew what she was talking about, I would be more then willing to come to an arrangement and purchase an extended warranty and would be a happy customer. My expectations were much higher from a place like Thornhill Mercedes dealership and I expected them to be knowledgeable and guide me through the purchase which truly didn't happen.

I know now, after buying 2 mercedes cars, that It sucks to be me at the 2nd deal. But I promise you that they sucks too.

So, hope you all think carefully before you sign the deals there.

Please let me know if there is anything you think I could do in this case.
