Hi,
Check out Peter Klein's garage, "Kleins Auto Repair" 740 York St, London 519-434-0363. I heard they were reputable.
Let me know how you make out.
Cheers, Ken

I'm from Norwich. Not any indies in the area that i've heard. Was in London MB last week to purchase parts for my roof flaps. Service people are dumber than bricks. I was fortunately able to be allowed to speak with a mechanic after a few requests and when one came up front to meet me and the lady service rep. Brutal knowledge of their product. Mechanic never worked on an SL55, they both looked at me with that " we have no idea what your problem is " Told them I'd wing it and go with my own diagnostic intuitions. Let me know if you find a reliable indy or if you tried Klien's please.

London MB has been pretty good to me so far just it took 3 weeks to get an appointment with a car for me to take for the day super annoying. I feel they probably fix a lot of C class and know whats wrong with them.

My SL55 is in Burlington MB right now getting a new ABC pump, damn near puked on friday when they told me I'm looking at $4500 to install a new one. Should be ready today. Wonder if they'll let me finance the repair bill? LOL I'm done with that dealership now as the mechanic that worked and new the SL's is no longer there. Actually they have a big turnover of employee's at MB. Getting tired of dealing with a different person. A knowledgable indy with the star 4 diagnostic system would be nice. My OBD will do the basics only.
Last year it was my pneumatic pump at $2k, now the ABC. Reading the forums, I think I've got a majority of the $$$ items fixed now. So I told the Mrs. we have to keep the car and get our investment back out. lol

If you look at whats included in a service B, it's mostly visual inspections, plus rotate the tires, oil and filters. Pretty simple for an indy. They wanted $350 for mine until I told them that rotating the tires can't be done on a sl55. A bit of negotiating was done and MB then just charge me an hr of labour. That's not too bad. However, they do tend nit pick at every little item even if's only slightly worn.
My suggestion is to get a list of items that is part of your service B from London MB. Much on that list can be done by yourself and what can't be done, take to dealer or indy.

so Kleins auto called me back he seemed to know a lot about MB. his rate is 95$ an hr so a lot better than the dealership.
for a transmission service 280$
oil change 140$
break check and service 170$
in total he said about 700$ for the B service and transmission service. so about 400$ in savings. He also said he's getting more and more Mercedes owners as the dealership can't seem to keep customers.
So right now it's highly likely I get my work done there. But i Just want to give a family friend a call and see if he can do the work or not as he worked for volvo london and bmw london so its possible I can get a better deal through him will see and ill keep you updated.
