2005 CL500 Fuse Diagram/layout

hi,

Does anyone know where I can get the fuse diagrams or layouts for a 2005 CL500? For mine it's supposed to be on the tool kit but I think it was lost somehow. I contacted some MB dealers parts department but one didn't have it in stock and the other two claim it's located in the fuse compartments which it isn't on mine.

Thanks,

AK

It wasn't a fuse for me. They replaced the whole unit.

I read somewhere that the problem arises when trying to shift the car while the door is open. Apparently the shifter is the last line of defense against theft and if you rush shifting while the door is open it will not shift into gear.

The solution was to turn off the car and get out and security arm/lock it.

Wait 10 seconds, then unlock and re-enter the car and close the door. Turn the key to postion 2 and wait 3 full seconds for the systems to get 'booted' before starting the car.

Shift into gear.
Let us know if this helps or not. Good luck.

Yes I think thats what it is, but doing so can damage the shifter to the point where it requires a replacement. I had to hammer it out of park to drive to the dealer.

jruinz,
Seems like the common shift locking pin issue. After time, the pin breaks and ceases to operate when depressing the brake pedal, thus not allowing you to shift from park. For a small broken piece of plastic, the entire shift control module is replaced.

An alternative solution can be found on the W220 forum. One of the members there documented how to remove and repair the faulty pin by essentially removing it and allowing you to shift without depressing the brake pedal. I will be going this route next time mine fails.

HI Paul,
Here's the part number for the fuse label on the 2003 CL500:

A 000 545 17 00

Your MB dealer should be able to sell you one for +/- $5.00.

Hey guys, this off the subject but my navigation says unavailable and it seems like there is no power, the nav cd is stuck in there and wont eject. Is this a fuse problem? If so, where is the fuse for the navigation unit located?

Guys, I have a CL500 fuse chart. I can email it to anyone who PMs me. I assume it's similar to the 600 but the motor related fuses could be different
