Most likely the little plastic shift linkage broke it's a common issue. Not sure why it would affect lights. Several posts here on the problem just fo a forum search using keyword shift.

Glad you got out of it cheap! Have to remember that as a possible issue. What fuse was it btw?

Hello All,

I hope this message reaches everyone who reads it doing well. My gear lever is stuck in park and my brake lights don't work on my CL600. I have tested every fuse in the car and all of them are good. I have removed the brake light switch, a new one is being shipped over night.

What fuse did you change that affected your brake lights? Where was the fuse located, the right side of the glove compartment, under the rear passenger seat, or if under the hood, the left side or the right side?

Thanks,

Anthony

Brake light fuse location

I've learned there is no safety fuse for brake lights but in fact a electronic circut braker. im having this issue right now. can anyone pin point the location of this breaker?

Isn't this just the brake switch, I'm sure I read this before, it would be part of the pedal assembly as I remember
