Need to replace the ABC Pressure Sensor
I have a 2000 CL500 and need to replace the ABC pressure sensor. It's located behind the RF tire. Looks simple enough. Is this something I can do or do I need to take it to the shop? Will all the fluid come shooting out as soon as I unscrew the sensor?

I am not aware of a pressure sensor in the area you have indicated.
Are you referring to the large black bulb which is the nitrogen charged pressure accumulator (#410 in the pic below) which screws into the valve unit #400 ? Or a hose #560/#580 ?

The part your looking at is a "Sender Unit" Part # A0125429217. EPC indicates this part is NOT available separately from the valve unit any longer. The entire valve unit is priced around $1000!
See: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...C%20CL55%20AMG
There is a "Repair Kit" Part # A2203201158 listed for this however. You may want to inquire what this repair kit is all about. Looks like it is a $80 part.
Have you tired to tighten the sender ? The torque specification for it is 50nm.
If you remove it, fluid will come out but as long as the car isn't running and has been off for a while the pressure wont be high.

I checked with my dealer. Your right that you cannot get sensor and must buy the valve for $970. I did tighten the sensor down and that dd not work. I loosened it and backed it off. I discovered that there must be an O ri g that has deteriorated. I called Mercedes to get the reair kit. It's $77 and was not in stock so they ordered it. They were not sure if the O ring is in the kit. I think it has to be. What else can you repair on the sensor. LOL! As long as nothing else is broke, When I fix it and top off the fluid should the car raise back up?

I recommend filling up when the engine is off and has been for at least 5-10 minutes. Keep the level about a 1/4" below the full mark to avoid venting of the fluid out the dip stick hole.

Awiner. Are any more of those O rings I should think about replacing? If it turns out that the repair kit does have the O ring, I can get more if needed.

Hi, any update on the repair kit? My 2002 CL500 is leaking fluid where the sensor and the valve met. I am trying to understand if there's just o-rings in the repair kit, and if I can find these o-ring at the hydraulic shop.
thanks

Since I did not heard back and needing to decide if the abc relief valve can be repair, I unscrew off the sensor and found that o-ring is the caused. I took the broken o-ring to Hydraulic shop and pair up the o-ring, put it back and it has been no leak after driving for 45 minutes. Cost of o-ring? .60 cent. Just thought you might want to know in case your is leaking between the valve and sensor unit.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Thanks dee2000, mine began leaking from the sensor unit as well this morning. Dumped a considerable amount of fluid as well. Luckily I was at home when this happened. Unscrewed the sensor which came off easily. Found the oring to be broken. Picked up an oring kit from Harbor Freight and replaced it and all is good.
