Headlights Pointing Down, No Auto Leveling at Startup

Headlights Pointing Down, No Auto Leveling at Startup
Just picked up a 2003 CL500 with the AMG sport package.
The issue I have is both of my headlights are pointed all the way down and I can only see about 6 feet in front of me.
When I start the car
, the lights are not going up and down (auto leveling).
What could be the issue? Where exactly are the sensors and motors for the auto leveling?

Don't know if this is any help but I had a simmilar problem with my E class, turned out to be a switch on the suspension at the front drivers side (UK car) which was faulty. Not sure what this switch does but I bought a replacement and a new bracket and the garage fitted them, all OK after that.
