Did you push the pads back with a lever?

Does the caliper moev at all, or is it still clamped?

I don't push the caliper backs it have lever but the rotors move freely. I remove both upper and lower bolts but it's like there is a 3rd bolt somewhere and it frustrating the hell out of me

I've never come across a brake caliper that wasn't fitted with two large bolts.

What you could do is put the bolts back in very loosely and hit the caliper with a big lump of wood.

I'll try it again. Very frustrating. I've changed brakes many times in the past. I'll just hit it with the wood and see if it can free itself loose

Are you changing the pads or the rotors?

Do you have fixed or sliding calipers? If they're 4 piston fixed calipers (probable) then you should be able to remove the pads without removing the caliper.

If there is a lip on your discs, then the pads are difficult to remove.

Ah. I did the fronts today. I didn't realize all you had to do is remove the pins and not the 2 bolts on the inside of the caliper. I was making it more difficult than it actually was. Probably one of my easiest brake pad changes in all of my cars. Thanks for the input everyone.
