Lost to Engine fire

Last week I lost my dear pride and joy 2000 CL 500 due to engine fire without any notice. I have already spent over $8000 for hydraulic pump, windshield, rear window glass, front struts, water pump, trans service, brakes etc.
The engine caught fire and totally burnt out including the hood in front of my eyes. The probable cause according to insurance folks could be fire in blower circuitry which was recalled by MB a few years back.
Advice: for 215 owners look at all the recalls for this model and make sure you get them done.
Looking for CL550 2011 and beyond. I just bought 2012 GL 350 for my better half. She like it for me being diesel it is turtle as compare to my ex Cl 500. Going to Alaska by road in couple of weeks in my Airstream towed by GL. I will look for CL550 after I return in 2-3 months
Thanks for listening
