Benzocaine

Hi all, I recently bought my first Mercedes, a 2004 CL500. I love the car but it has a major annoyance, the door chime rings whenever the front drivers door is open, regardless if there is no key in the ignition or the lights are off. Is this normal or does anyone know what is causing it or how to stop it, pulling a fuse possibly? thanks!

Ours started doing that after they replaced the instrument cluster under the recall. Didn't before then if I remember correctly.
