Disconnected batter, radio won't work
I have my 2002 cl500, I disconnected the battery one day for about 10-15mins and put back in and now no sound comes out from the radio. I can change the radio station and what not but no sound at all. And radio use to work before disconnecting the battery and the fuse on the amp is still good. Anyone with same problem or good opinion on this situation?

Mine has done that twice, and I've probably disconnected my battery 50 times. Both times it just started working normally again on its own within the next few drives.

How do I get the code and enter it? That's the vin for my car by the way WDBPJ75J92A028316
Another way is to register on the mbusa website and submit your vin. Now the kicker is unless you're the original owner it won't let you register the vin. However, you can email them and tell them you are the current owner and they can update the system. That is what I had to do. Once you're able to register your vin you'll be able to retrieve the code.

That is correct. The W215 COMAND units do not use a anti theft code. Something has either gone out in the component chain (such as a bad amp) or there is a fiber link issue in the chain.
You would need to scan for codes and if nothing shows up run diagnostics on the fiber chain.

Yeah I just tried a new amp on the car and it didn't work. I can switch channels like normal but the volume won't go up with no type of sound coming out. I tried to reset the radio and that didn't work. Is there any fuse in the fuse box for the radio maybe? Becuase the one on the amp is good as well
If the head unit is powering up, the fuse on the back of it is OK.
Do you know how to enter the DIAG menu on COMAND to check the fiber ring ?

To get into the Diag. mode, while in the radio tuner input press and hold the MUTE + 1 + 3 key at the same time. Hold them for 5 seconds and if successful you will be presented with the diagnostic menu.
There are a few things in the menu you can look at to see if there are any errors in the ring, etc.
