ABC WARNING STRUTMASTERS MODULE

ABC WARNING STRUTMASTERS MODULE
Hi, Does anyone know where the ABC module is on my 2002 CL 500 W215 as I have changed the struts to conventional srutmasters, and got the ABC light out module, but I have tried all their instructions to wire it up, but it aint working. I also tried taking the ABC fuses out -no luck with that either. So strutmasters are telling me to find out where the ABC module is. Anyone dealt with this before, where should I be connecting this module too. Any help with this would be very much appreciated Many Thanks, Gus.

it has a video of the wiring on their website.

Thanks Guys, Yes I think this may be the problem -being a right hand drive, For location, Any idea what I would be looking for in the fuse box, Is it a big square box type fuse/module, Do you know what colour or amp rating. Cheers.

It is in one of the fuses/module boxes under the hood. Since your RHD, check your passenger side box first :-)
I don't think its different for Right Hand Drive, as the instructions for fitting my Brabus lowering module doesn't make mention of a LHD or RHD difference.
Look for the 48 and the 30 pin harness connectors on the module.

Sorry for the delay guys, I was working away for a while. Thanks for the info Adam, I will look into this, and let you know the outcome. Sorry fireman but I'm an old fart, and don't know how to post a picture, my phone doesn't even have a cameraold dog and all that. But if it's any help, I would say it sits about 1/2 inch (half inch-12mm) higher than normal, handles well, but is a bit harder over potholes etc. I hope this helps.

Hi Guys, I am still no further forward with the ABC warning light coming on every time i start up, and have to press the reset button to get rid of it, I was just wondering if anyone out their has discovered a way to disable this dammed annoying ABC light. I have fitted coilovers, and a single power steering pump. The 3 wire plugs which plugged into the old ABC struts are obviously disconnected, i often wonder if the light would go out if i joined up the 3 wires, or would i fry the ECU ? Anyone ever tried this, or know how to get rid of the ABC warning light. Many Thanks for your time, Gus.

My car is also RHD.
The main fuse box with the yellow relay boxes is on the same side as the LHD cars...crucially though, in my case, the ABC module is not there as shown in the Strutmasters video:
My fusebox:
There is another fusebox on the other side...you will find the ABC module buried in there...alongside the relay boxes. I believe if yours looks like this, then this is where the connections should be made for the light box:
Hope this helps.

ABC Module
Hi, Thanks for your reply, I got hold of a 2nd hand power steering pump from Ebay, which i was assured would fit and replace the original tandem pump, which it did with some alterations to the fluid pipes, the pump was from a scraped s class 500, i think it was a 2000 model, which never had ABC, and it bolted straight on, and i think we used the same pulley belt, it was my mechanic who done it, and it was about 2 years ago, hope this helps, just let me know if you need ant more info. As regards my ABC warning light problem, thanks for the info and photos, i have tried both fuse boxes with the light box from strutmasters, when i did it the way they said -the car would not start -until i disconnected the box (N/S fusebox) so i got my mechanic to try, and he couldn't get it to work, but he assured me that the control module was on the o/s (drivers side) so i tried wiring the box into this fuse box - o/s No luck, so i'm assuming it would be a case of connecting to the correct wires, and i don't even know which module is the ABC one, Do you know which one it is ? Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Gus.

also, I spoke with strutmasters and concerning the MA1M light fix module, they said it would replace the whole ABC signals.
But, don't forget you have pressure sensors in several location
If your abc is disconnected, the sensors under the car might create a signal maybe not covered by the module. but this is my idea. I hope I'm wrong.
I am going to test all this one by one, my Idea is to keep the tandem pump but creating a direct fluid loop pump-tank-pump, then trash the whole abc **** under the car with all the freaking hoses.
Also, if your ABC was out of order, it might have triggered stuff you have to remove in XENTRY DAS but this is my idea. I might be wrong.
Also, you might have not connected the module right the first time and fried something inside.....I hope I'm wrong.
I'm converting in a week or two with racing adjustable coilovers struts
I'm now trying to disable ABC in DAS
I'll post the project update on the forum
good luck

If yes, then the ABC module you are looking for is in the offside one...alongside the relays. The colours of the wires as discussed in the video will be the clue as to what you are looking for.

Thanks again for the info, yes my fuse boxes look the same as yours, I'll have another tinker with it and let you know how it goes, Good luck with your conversion, I hope it all goes well, Are you getting the struts from srutmasters, Are you getting the ABC light out module ?
#19
thx nope, I am getting much better from the UK, adjustable in height and pressure
the module yes
it depends also, if I can disable the stuff in DAS, no module at all

When you converted did you inform your insurers and if yes...what did they say?
#22
Yes told insurers and it didn't seem to make any difference, have you had any comments from your insurers. I had another look at my fuse box, but still back to square one, as i can't do any more without knowing which wires to use for the light out module
