Transmission in cold weather

Good day, team. Need advise.
As soon as it got colder in NYC I've noticed that my car's transmission is a bit rough in first gear and doesn't switch to second smoothly. Once the car is warm and I drive a mile or so it's all back to normal. Also sometimes when it downshifts (I'm guessing from 2nd to 1st gear) i feel a little kick.
Is this normal behavior for cold weather or I should be worried?
Also, can I refill the transmission fluid?
Any suggestions appreciated.
THank you in advance.

Depends what car you have you don't list the year , Mercedes changed from
A 5 speed transmission with a capped dipstick tube To a seven speed with no dipstick tube

For the five speed you need to buy the Mercedes dipstick tool

You should just have the fluid and filter changed (pan dropped) do not have it "flushed "

Also if you have the 5 speed (2000-2003 cars and all 600 and Amg 55) when doing the fluid change , change the transmission electrical plug which often leaks internally causing fluid to damage the electronics

How to change transmission electrical plug
(Fluid leaks into wiring)

it's a 06 cl500.
I remember when I had a 97 bmw 528i it said in a manual that transmission fluid was lifetime, however when mechanic changed the fluid it was shifting like a brand new car (had issues before that). Do my symptoms sound like the car would benefit from tr.fluid change?

My 05 CL55 has the same issue although the trans won't smooth out until its completely warmed up. To me it almost feels like the torque converter clutch is engaging to soon. The shifts from 1-2-3 are usually pretty hard and if you hearing the car from the outside you'd swear I was just learning how to drive a manual. It'll do it in sport or convenience mode. I haven't tried shifting with the buttons on the wheel yet. It's got 115k miles on it now. The fluid, filter and electronic plug were replaced about 20k miles ago. Oh, and seems to downshift weird as well.
