Front ABC proportioning valve question

I have a 2002 CL500 with an ABC issue. I've replaced front struts, pump, sensors and a few other things. The ABC system works flawlessly except when parked. In a very few minutes the front sags to the ground. On the plus side it gives it an aggressive looking rake. It really more annoying than anything else, I just have to remember to park with the wheels pointed straight ahead. Obviously it is the front proportioning valve leaking back into the system. A friend gave me a valve that he had bought for his CL that he never used. My question is, do I need to charge the nitrogen system before installation? Is there a way to tell its charged?

Thanks

The nitrogen spheres cannot be charged you just buy new ones , it's a closed system

Biker is right, sounds like a leaking valve block. There are threads on here about rebuilding them. I have one that leaks when it is cold (car drops withing a few hours when parked outside in winter but not in my heated garage even after two days). Going to try and rebuild mine in March based on the threads I've read on here.

Hey Dr. Matt, I was thinking about rebuilding mine as well but have not decided on what type of o-rings to use. Have you done any research on which are best? Can anyone else out there let us know which are the best to use?

From reading threads here just regular Buna-N o rings are used. I bought an O-ring kit years ago and am hoping when I tear mine apart I will have the right ones. Plan to do it this coming weekend or at the latest next weekend.

Decided to do my exhaust mod this weekend so bumping the valve block to next weekend. I'll post up how it goes.

Scheduled for a dyno day with a local Mustang club April 30th too so I need to get going on the killer chiller install. I guess since I'm still a die hard Ford guy I'm still welcome even though I drive a Mercedes now LOL. They said I don't get the trophy for the top HP of the day if I put down the big # though. Doubt it will make it but would like to top my Lightning's dyno #'s of 697/734.
