cruise control issue - help!
2004 cl55 120k km
today i noticed the cruise control is randomly deactivating itself and the speedometer lights are blinking when it does so.
i noticed the chance of it deatcivating itself like that is higher when driving slow and i am resuming a higher set speed
eg i'm going 120 and resuming 140 - it will deactivate itself at 125.
if i m going 138 and want to resume 140 chance for deactivation is lower
but it was also deactivating when i d go up to 140 and lock the speed in.
normally when you have cruise control set and you brake it deactivates without these blinking speedo lights..you can see what happens in this video below:
http://bit.ly/29E3hR7
will hook the car up to an obd reader and see what the log says but before i do that i wanted to know if anyone experienced something like this before and does anyone have any idea what would be causing this??
a few notes that might be in relation to the issue (?) :
just installed 20" rims
just installed new trans/engine mounts and shaft flex discs
installed new rear rotors and all round new pads (original) ~1000 kms ago - ordered drilled rotors but the ones that arrived are not drilled
yesterday at the car wash i told the guy to insist on the radiators and the wheels/rotors/calipers..maybe the water messed up something
help much appreciated

Should be fine. Too much of a difference in tire circumference can mess with the abs and traction control sensors, 3% I think. Your tire size is the same difference as factory, so that's definitely not your issue. It's the only thing I could think of, I'm sure someone else may have a better idea for you.

i just checked and there is a big difference side wall height (5.9%) so this might be the cause.
i just installed the tyre sizes i found here without double checking: (http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/inf.../mercedes-benz
...but in order for the sidewall height to be equal front needs to be 235 not 245
still the cruise control disengage seems to be quite random..but given that with the 18s i never had this issue this is most likely to be the culprit
