Random Check engine light comes on & off
Hello group. I have a CL600 with 127k miles. My check engine light comes on for about 2-3 days and then goes off for about 2 weeks and repeats. When the light first comes on the engine runs a little rough but when I restart it, it seems to run fine but the light stays on. I haven't had an opportunity to check to see what code comes up, just looking to see if anyone else has had this issue or something similar. I was told that I could possibly have a misfire in one of the cylinders or could be a bad sensor somewhere. Any ideas on what to check would be highly appreciated. Thank you all very much for taking the time to read my post and reply.

Bit of advise whether its true or not but I did it anyway, if it is the coil packs replace the voltage Transformer too that sits on top of the engine. Only reason is apparently if you replace the coil packs and the voltage Transformer is faulty too, it can quickly break the new coil packs. Not sure if it's true or not but way I think of it is a bit like changing a timing belt and not replacing the rollers/tensioners at the same time if that makes sense?!
