Hello - new to the W215 club
This week, I purchased a nice 2001 CL600 from Bring a Trailer (well, afterwards, because my high bid didn't meet the reserve).
I should have the car within the week (it's coming diagonally across the country.
Long ago had a '78 450SL.
Currently, I have a '59 190D, rally-converted and WVO-drinking sedan that ran the 2008 La Carrera Panamerica; a thousand miles solely on resturant grease - I bought it from the group that modified and drove it.
Son will soon start driving that one to HS; I think I'll enjoy the difference of this CL!
I've clearly got lots of reading to do here!

Beautiful car!!
these early s600 have some nasty problem areas with the leaky oil cooler located in the middle of the engine , the coil packs and abc suspension . If you are good at DIY these can be repaired at substantial savings

Hey, thanks. The car (74K miles) had an engine-out service in July, all new hydraulic ABC lines, and new plugs and boots.
I know to keep a watch on the oil cooler - I understand the heads have to come off!
My local import shop was just bought by a retired MB dealer master mechanic of twenty years - it helped make me more confident of the purchase

Nice wheel setup, I haven't seen that type on a CL. If I were you, I'd pull up STAR and set the speed limiter to something lower than the 130 it comes with, if your son is driving it. Believe me, if I had more than 165hp in a 30 year old Buick in HS, I'd have been using all of it. Get an eye on the front suspension, the rubber components deteriorate over time and can cause all kinds squeaks and sloppy steering.
