Do you have the Bose system...you will know because it will say Bose on the front pair of door speakers? Post a pic of what you have and we can help.

Please detail exactly what is still not working ?

Is your stereo and cd changer now working and playing sound normally ?
Only the voice control module was back there and it's no longer available

my audio deos work but i have two coax ends and 3 or 4 parallel port style connectors. also i want to out a phone system back in and have the nav work. i would love to be able to put a more modern phone nav etc but with the d2b and bose combo that seems unlikely. also i wasnt sure if the park assist module was back there as i want to get that working again also.

The factory phone was analog so it won't work and factory nav is useless today
the Bluetooth adapters are about $600
Not worth it in my opinion

Buy an Android head unit, bypass all the stuff in the boot (trunk) and have a better system than came as standard.

It's what I am doing.

They are the same...they both require an adapter to allow fo to continue...but only in two channels...not the 5 they come with.

yea might be, only thing you need to make sure is if you have fiber optic amp or not
and if yes, you need the Fiber optic decoder

I have been looking into that option and I do have a fiber optic bose amp but from what I can glean that decoder is for MOST based systems and I am pretty sure mine is D2B

He won't have fiber optic, 2001 (UK or USA) had a different COMAND system, so his wiring requirements may be slightly different. The conversion to the fiber optic bus was MY2004(UK 2003.)

The original W220 and W215 used the COMAND 2.5 and used d2b fiber optics.

The problem with the Bose system, is the Bose amp...they stop working after some years and repair costs. I was able to remove my complete system, with non working Bose amp, sell it and buy the Android unit and a new amp (not strictly necessary) for the same money.

I'll do a thread once I have it installed...time is against me at the moment.

That's not correct that's when they put in the Most system but before that they had D2b

I stand corrected. From what I read, I understood the earlier W215's had a more conventional setup.

I just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing any control modules like the park assist or anything else
