02 CL500's Mufflers Recommendation

Hi there,
I have an 02 CL500 & am thinking about changing the stock mufflers to get a deeper exhaust sound but concern about the drone at freeway speed. Has anyone swapped your stocks to any other brands beside Brabus? Car is in great shape but 15 years old so don't want to spend much on the whole exhaust setup so prefer to change out the mufflers only. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
John

Just remove the mufflers and resonators entirely and replace with straight pipe

That won't do as I live in California. The emission is tough here so I can delete them & replace w/ straight pipe.

I live in ca too . You absolutely can remove both mufflers and resonators .

You only need catalytic converters . Everything behind it can be straight pipe

Tusabes- How's the exhaust sounds w/o the resonators & mufflers? I can imagine it must sounds very loud especially w/o the mufflers. Any drone at freeway speed? Is yours also a CL500 or CL55 or CL600? Would love to see & hear a video clip if you have it. Thanks in advance.

The turbo cars are quiet even with straight pipe , the turbo And 4 cats mask most of the sound . Shoofnyc is building a v12 with two of the cats removed , all mufflers and resonators removed and it's still quiet

I would recommend mufflers, mine are custom made
without mufflers you'll get a very irritating whoo
you can reduce the left whoo at 1.000-2.000 rpm by thickening the isolation behind the heat plates above the mufflers
this is for CL V12 biturbo

The v12 biturbo has a very different sound from the normally aspirated cars
