2004 CL500 "AC Off" light on and no AC

I have 2004 CL500, and the AC quit. The “AC off” button is lit. I read on another thread about resetting the error codes on the climate control unit. I did that, and got an error code “1000”, and it cleared. Now when I go to reset the error codes I get “Error code “- - - - “. However, I still have no AC, and when I went to check/recharge the refrigerant, I found 100 psi on the suction side. So I can’t charge the system. I also tried the climate control test/reset procedure, but the indicator lights did not blink. What might be going on here?

I also saw a thread where someone said there is a reset button that protects the compressor when there is something faulty in the system and that it is located on the condenser. I am wondering if resetting this will allow me to charge the system. Can someone describe what this button looks like and precisely where it is located? I can’t seem to find it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try posting your question in the W215 area. This area is for 2007 and newer vehicles.

Completely different vehicle. Almost no parts in common.
