2007 S550V4 2001 S430 (Sold) 1976 450 SL
Front License Plate Display
2012 w/ the "arrow point" front bumper (AMG flaring pkg.). The factory edition display piece is attached.
In Wisconsin, the front plate must be displayed. To attach the bare license plate, I must bent it some, putting pressure on the attaching screws, which go thru the relatively flimsy plastic bracket. This also precludes having a chrome "surround" or frame. I have yet found a fitting, roughly 30+* bent in the middle chrome frame.
W/ that said, does anyone know where to find an add on, curved mounting bracket OR an add on that screws to the original 30*+ frame, allowing "flat" license plates to be displayed?
Thoughts and recommendations appreciated.

Smart move putting the plate on. I took my chances without a plate and got a warning ticket in Nebraska last week (Hwy 81 south of Columbus). Warning ticket required me to put the plate on, then get a police officer to sign the back of the ticket stating that the plate was on, then mail the ticket back to Nebraska.
I went to a Ft Worth Police substation and asked for someone to sign the ticket and the response was " we don't do that here" and plodded on to the Benbrook Police station where they cheerfully looked at the plate and signed the back of the ticket. Hats off to the Benbrook Police Dept.
I had the Park Place Dealership put the plate and plate holder on the front of the CL and they did it in fifteen minutes or less at no cost.

Lemme guess.....the Fort Worth pd vehicles have painted in big letters on the car sides, "To Protect and Serve".....
Glad things worked out.
I had an MB chrome surround frame, so I tried to "form" it around the arrow shaped plastic license holder. It took, w/o breaking. So, that's good. I only have to hope the state plate cooperates equally.

PS--Does a forum member know if anyone over 5'6" and 120# ever entered and sat in the rear area of a CL? I'm 6'4", 280#'s, so love the front seat and large door, but yikes for those behind me....
