Windshield inside tint
Sorry to hog the posts, but the '12 Cl is both beautiful and "different" to me.
Coming off an S550, the set up inside is wholly familiar. That helps.
But, here's a query. It has 24.5k miles and comes off Mannheim. I note an area in the far, upper left of the windshield, where the inside tint has been scraped and/or rubbed off. The exposed area is maybe the size of a #10 pencil eraser. The glass is, indeed, clear in that area and very obvious. There is a peripheral area to the completely exposed, that is raised, but not "clear".
The good news is it's not in the direct view, while driving. But, not unlike a facial blemish, it is a constant visual distraction. It doesn't impact driving or function, but bugs me..
Not sure how it got there, but wonder if there's anything I can do to have this pia fixed, w/o replacing the $1200 plus windshield (yep, that's just for the glass). Gotta buy from the MB dlr., as Satellite and other glass replacement outfits cannot even acquire the darn thing.
Any ideas? Can a piece be "patched" in? Anyone else dealt w/ this annoyance?
All thoughts appreciated. Thanks.
