Hi Guys, I had an accident the other day where someone rear ended me. It messed up the bumper and pushed the trunk in. Unfortunately, since it's an older vehicle I didn't have collision and the other driver was uninsured. I never turned the car off and it drove home fine. However when I tried to restart it, it would not come back on. When I turn the key it doesn't crank but makes a sound almost like a single "dink" almost like something is preventing the starter from moving. I've heard that the starter replacement is expensive and not a job for amateurs like myself. I'm just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions of possible minor things I could check before having it towed to the dealership. Obviously, I'd much rather just have to deal with doing body work rather than mechanical and body.
