Question Black Sludge Behind Fog Light?

I was attempting to change my fog light bulbs out... I unscrewed the little black grill that surrounds the driver side fog lamp and noticed this... Looks like oil...

Any guesses what this is or where it may have been coming from? I don't seem to have an oil leak as far as I know... I do know that the previous owner said he was in a fender bender and got hit in the front before I purchased it... Maybe it's from that

Thanks In Advance

Talked to a mechanic... Said it looked old and like someone spilled a little oil from a while back, so nothing to worry about hopefully...

I was worried about one of the hoses to the abc pump.
