Extended Warranty--non-MB

My factory warranty expires in three months. I've had this a yr. It just rolled over 30k miles. I am the 2nd to title it.

I asked two MB dlrs. for quotes. Here is info on the better of the two.....

5 years/75k miles - $3700 + tax (expires 06.15.17)

6 years/75 miles - $4450 + tax (expires 06.15.18)

7 years/75k miles - $6400 + tax (expires 06.15.19)

Recent issues make me anxious. Tho' war. covered, I asked the SA and he'd estimate over 7 k was spent. Yikes. This scares me, as to out of pocket risk/dollars going fwd.

I am not deep-pocketed and don't simply lease the latest and greatest and turn in the keys. I've been in S', now a CL, for over 20 yrs. I buy a yr. or two yrs. after new platform release, off lease, w/ war. and drive for five or so yrs. I've been warranty naked on prior ones and not sure if I won or lost, vis a vis warranty vs. paying out of pocket.

So, to even get my tail covered for three more yrs., I am looking at $6720 (incl. taxes). That's $2240/yr. I feel there's value, to potential resale value (ability to sell), if there's a solid warranty going w/ the car.

Here's the question..... is there a 3rd party/after mkt. warranty that is worth a blank that is less costly? I have self insured in the past, but this darn CL seems way too intricate, way too "issue" prone, to simply roll the die.

I'd sure appreciate advice on this.

Thank you.

If you go back to my original post about the extended warranty, you will see the best available warranty on the market, that will not cost you very much money at all. Good luck

2014CL600--Here's your only reply, to the best of my research, which you referenced warranty and replied to my original post, Baffled.

You wrote on Feb. 8, "Price them for a V-12 and see how much they want. It doubles in price for each"

I'm not too smart, but what direction or advice is one to garner from the obvious?

If I missed a post from you offering specifics about, "If you go back to my original post about the extended warranty, you will see the best available warranty on the market, that will not cost you very much money at all. Good luck", pls. reference it. I'd like to learn which is the best for the money, see your advice and try to follow up w/ whatever it was you referenced.

Right now I'm looking at $2133 + tax/yr. for an MB warranty. Mainly, I look to learn if that's reasonable, comparable to a 3rd party etc. I sense having that warranty going w/ the car when selling would have value.

Hope you'll help me.

Thanks.

Carchex is the warranty company and they are BBB accredited. They prices are outstanding and they pay. Yes, the 600 is much more expensive for the extended warranty but one has nothing to do with the other. Check them out get a 100.00 deductible and 5/75 warranty. I posted this in a previous post, where I believe you already asked this before. If I'm mistakes forgive me. Good luck with your warranty hunt. I have put it on my 11 CL550 with 10k miles and they already paid out a 2,500 claim without any issue at the dealer.
