Just shipped the ECU to AMS today for a tune...
AMS has a tune for our cars that claims to bring the power up to 575hp, with 660lbs of torque. Should be an exciting upgrade for what I hope will be a pretty strong sleeper. Will post updates once the upgraded ECU is installed.

I'm surprised at your morning pissing all over the forum on this topic, since Kleeman, Renntech, Brabus, Weistec, and AMS all generate similar results on this platform...care to elaborate on your skepticism?

Sounds like projected crank numbers which are just an estimated projection as only the factory takes the time typically to test the engine separate from the vehicle due to all the extras needed to run it that way and because you already have a chassis for the engine so chassis dyno numbers are what matters at this point. I hear the tunes are impressive nonetheless but don't get caught up in numbers tell us how it feels and drives based on how you use the vehicle. The m278 is a sleeper.

garrettg, I couldn't agree more. Any tune on a 550 is for a "seat of the pants" improvement, as the rest of the car just isn't set up for performance, at least in the case of the CL. It's a sexy large coupe, but it doesn't have the suspension setup to really hustle. I'll update on the results when I get it back.
yoyo7112, your story was a nightmare...hope you at least are up and running again.

The AMS tune is now on the car, and I have to say, it is a DRAMATICALLY faster and more dynamic driving car. It seems as though the boost is much stronger right out of the gate at 1500rpm, and slams you back in your seat right off the line...by 3000rpm you'll be moving well above highway speeds. The car is now faster in E mode than it ever was in S (starting out from a stop in 1st gear, as opposed to 2nd), and has truly amazing power. At highway speeds, a gentle touch of the gas sends you well into triple digits speeds, seemingly without effort.
This is still a big heavy car, but it now accelerates like a beast, and is a ton of fun to drive. I would HIGHLY recommend the tune.

I had the ECU removed and reinstalled locally. It was shipped to AMS, and tuned by them, with the local shop clearing out faults once it was reinstalled. The car has run flawlessly, and drives like it did stock until you get into the boost. Total cost was $2800 installed.
