Technical bulletins

Ricky,

Would you be so kind as to post TBs for the C219 (CLS55). I am having a hell of a time with my car's brakes - please see my post under "Squeaking Brakes, the saga continues".

Many thanks and warm regards,

Orazio

Any chance you have one of those list for a 2001 CL55? My warranty runs out this summer and I'd love to have a punch list.

THANKS!

AS a newbee could you tell me what I can use is info for. I have a 2005 cl55. do I need to go to the dealer with the recall flagh update? If my car breaks on one of these items will it fixed for free? Sorry I am just new to tsb and recall. My other cars were old muscle cars and I didn't deal with theses. If it saves time and money thats great. Thank fore the info.

Please do the same for the G Class.

I have chronic window and door lock/latch problems that the dealer will no longer fix under the extended 100k warranty.

Any ideas who at MBUSA I can contact? I have a written contract they will not honor...

Great info - thanks!
would you like additional info from members?
the 2000-2005 w215's had a ABC sensor recall that involves replacing the strut sensors. Since the sensor is an integral part the strut, I don't see how they are going to do it without replacing the entire strut. I checked with the dealer, the recall is valid, for some reason my '05 w215 wasn't listed.

Please look at the recall info at the top of the page.

IS the recall you have just learned about concerning the ABC sensor this or a new one? Could you quote the ABC sensor/strut recall date and recall number etc so I can ask the dealer, please?

AUGUST 2008 -- Mercedes Benz is recalling 4,564 MY 2001-2006 CL-Class (Model 215), MY 2002-2006 S-Class (Model 220), MY 2003-2007 SL-Class (Model 230), MY 2007-2008 CL-Class (Model 216), and MY 2007 S-Class (Model 221) passenger vehicles equipped with Active Body Control (ABC) acceleration sensors on the front struts. These sensors measure acceleration around the Z-axis of the vehicle and assure an automatic adaptation of the front struts to maintain a relatively level body position. Variations in the soldering process resulted in soldering points on the board of the ABC sensors which may not be within design tolerances. Signals from the affected sensors measuring the acceleration may not be accurately transmitted to the engine control unit. A variation in the transmitted values between affected and unaffected sensors can result in one front strut adjusting to a value indicating body movement while another strut does not adjust presenting the driver with an uneven front suspension. This condition may lead to unexpected body movements at the front axle which can adversely influence the vehicle's directional stability and could lead to a vehicle crash. Dealers will inspect and replace, if necessary, the front ABC sensors in all potentially affected vehicles. The recall is expected to begin during September 2008. 08V405

The recall is expected to begin during September 2008. 08V405
From the amount of 215 this would seem to cover the lion's share. How do I know if my vehicle is covered by this recall? If I call the dealer is there a "secret code" I can tell them other than the August/September 2008 recall?

Thanks!

call the dealer with your VIN number. They will use it to check for all recalls.
