Will the newer style square exhaust AMG tips fit a w215

I'm about to embark on trying to retrofit the w215 with the new style square exhaust AMG tips.
Click the image to open in full size.
I doubt its been done before. I also have one of EuroTeck's 10 carbon fiber diffusers, so it may need some alteration. Does anyone know how much difference there is in size between the oval tips and square tips? There can't be THAT much of a difference seeing as the same W216 chasis uses both oval and then later square exhaust tips. And I don't think it would look out of place either because the W216 and the W221 both switched up the styles and both look great. I think it would look interesting and definitely seperate itself from other W215's out there. Any help is appreciated.

Also, someone needs to freakin' retrofit some LED running lights for the W215 already too!

I personally don't think it will flow with the rest of the car but if you like, go ahead.

+1 ... The new CL has some sharp lines to it so it works, but I don't think it will flow right on a W215

Well I did it.. I bought a set of the new style 'trapezoid/square' exhaust tips. Looking at the CL63 I posted when I made the thread compared to this
Click the image to open in full size.
Same car, everything, CL63, but that new exhaust just looks better...to me at least. It's my car and I rather make myself happy.
Here's some average at best, pics of the new the tips:

I've never seen this done on a W215, so hopefully if it goes good, people can reference this thread to know if it can or can not be done : Off tomorrow to get it powder coated satin black with the AMG letters in red. If it looks good, which I'm pretty sure it will with the carbon fiber diffuser, I'll post pics. Should be mean

Shipping out the diffuser tomorrow, too? All this time to buy mods, but not to do your due diligence?

edit: I saw you posted in B. Gorman's thread. My concern is that you don't swindle other members. I only think it's fair that you don't run the guy around.

I'm done.

I'm gonna send him the money back right now just because of you. Youre bothering me more about it more than he is. Youre annoying. I don't want his $50, it's nothing to me. He can spend the full amount. It's not worth having a goon like you, who by the way has absolutely nothing to do with this (who are you), following me around in threads like a creepy rapist. Swindle? Yeah, Ok. I'm not a vendor nor am I trying to make money on this site. If I were to swindle, id do it for more than $50 dude. Cant even get half a tank of gas with that, let alone race fuel. I can buy mods with the click of a button anywhere with a computer. I can't send product x if I'm not at my house where product x is at and I tried to explain that to him. Problem resolved now? All good? Cool? Can you shut up now please, I'd very much appreciate that.

I sent him his $50 back. My bad if waiting 12 days is too much of a wait for you or anyone else. Now you can leave me alone. Swindle.... This guy

Next phase of the exhaust tips competed; powder coat. I got them powder coated satin black.

Next part is getting the /////AMG emblem in red

I lined the new exhaust tips under the existing circular exhaust tips, and the way my car is with the diffuser, it should fit properly. However, ran into a roadblock!!
The W215 CL55s have 2 pipes on each side, 1 going into each tip. The new set I have has 1 pipe that curves and forms into 2 tips.
I guess the logical and correct way to install these is to cut ALL the pipe from basically the beginning of the new tip and weld new separate 3" piping for each tip, like the factory layout? Does that make sense or do you guys think there's a different method to this install? Not really one with exhaust systems and such.

And you didn't notice this before you bought them

You'll have to have some welding done and open up the tips.

Well I did ask the question back in September. No one got back to me, no one. So that's where I come in and have to do some pioneering because I can't rely on others. If no one has done the conversion on this car, how am I supposed to notice before I try it first hand...someone has to attempt it. My main concern was fitment, but it's going to fit good after aligning it. I don't know why I'm lol oh well.
Of course i know I need to get them welded. Open up the tips? Can you elaborate? From where on up do I have to "open up the tips"?

To be honest, all you had to do was look underneath the car and at the pictures of the tips before you bought them. Oh well... lessons learned

I think you'll need to cut the small pipe running on the inside tip to the outside tip and weld on a new one that mates up with your stock exhaust system. I think its probably better to modify the tips then the pipes on the stock system. It shouldn't be too much work for a shop to figure out. Are you sure the stock diam will mate up with the diam of the piping on the tips?

The diameter of the piping on the tips is a litte larger than the diameter of the stock piping. That's something else I really didn't plan on running into. My main goal was to just acquire the tips first, it took me a while to find them without having to get the whole muffler system. I knew it'd be an experiment with everything after. And this is the problem case with these tips on a W215. What's your recommendation?

I think I'd take it to a muffler shop and see what they recommend.

I love them. Much cooler than the regular oval tips from every angle, to me at least, and that's all that matters right?

In due time my friend. I can't post it up just yet. Everything has to be perfect. I dont really like to post pictures, Im a reclusive kind of guy. Thats why ive only posted teasers here and there. It's my art piece that can be presented only when finished in my eyes. Hopefully it inspires.

Mate this isnt matchmaker.com im not really interested in your personality and what do you mean reclusive you have posted pictures of every single mod you have done to your car?

The tips are on the car already what else has to be done? Just curious as what they will look like, hows the SLR shifter going btw

I understand, but just as your not interested in how I go about modding my car, I don't really care to post up an unfinished product or show pictures of my car onto the Internet.
I have posted about 30% of the mods on here that I have and/or got customized lol
I like to help people know that certain niche things that you might want to get customized can be done. Ex: I have Maybach style running lights in my mirrors that also work as the intended turn signals.
Carbon fiber fins on my hood, and lots and lots of custom goodies.
The SLR shifter is ****ing trecherous. Turning the car on like a fighter pilot is a pretty cool feeling Works just like it should.
Just understand when I'm finished creating it and get a legit photoshoot, you'll hopefully appreciate that much more.
