Looking for that too..
I think you need to remove the front bumper to swap out the heat exchanger also. |

if your car is anything like my 2005 cl65, you do NOT need to take off the bumper cover.. there are these special plastic clips which hold all the grilles in place and with a simple small flat screwdriver you can de-presse the clips and pop the grills out, but 80 percent chance they will break so plan to drive to the dealer and pick up those broken clip. they are cheap, about 10 dollars for 6 i think .. hopfully i understood your question right.....
takes about 2 min to pop all 3 grilles off |

You can normally remove the bumper with the car on the ground, just by rotating the wheels so you can get clearance to remove the clips in the wheel well. I haven't taken my CL bumper all the way off, but this is the way it works on most cars including Benz.

I was able to install a decent size HE without removing the front bumper. You need to remove the plastic belly pan and lower front grilles for access. For me it required removing the stock oil cooler brackets and fabricating simple brackets to relocate the oil cooler more towards the front of the car to create space. Stock bolt holes can be used from the original bracket on the underside of the bumper support but it will require longer bolts to allow for the HE tabs and new oil cooler bracket. Hopefully that makes sense. |
