This is why I hate driving in LA

Nice Saturday morning. Weather is beautiful. I pull out onto Wilshire in the middle lane, stuck in traffic, when this jackass pulls up to my driver side window, and tells me to move over 3 lanes to write me a $25 no front license plate ticket.

Don't these idiots have anything better to do than to pull people over in the middle of traffic? For the most insignificant infractions?? Ruined my damn morning.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the crime, Dillinger.

It's LA, man. There couldn't possibly be any more serious policing issues to handle. Right?

Is that a traffic cop or a real officer?

You stop for no one!

Double sided foam tape with fake screw heads work fine

A warning, but my buddy almost missed his flight.

I got that electric retractable license plate gadget but have yet to figure out how to mount it.

There is also that license adapter that connects to the front tow spot.

They gave me a warning luckily because I just happened to have a few of my buddies mini police badges hanging from my Sponge Bob air freshener. There is a plate frame that connects with no screws, my shop found it and put it in, i will ask where they git it.

I am with you. If I buy a new car or a car that does not have a front bracket it on it already. There will never be one.

Same ticket in Chicago cost me over $100, and I wasn't even in my car. lol. Car was empty parked.

In a burb of chicago, I got nailed for it as well. Was only $35.

You would really think they have better things to do.

All of the crime and issues out there in LA and this is what police do? That is sad. However, be thankful it was only $25. In NY I herd many times people saying $300+ for no front plate or having a Euro plate. Kid you not NY will do anything to make a fast buck.

Go to Tricplate.com. That's the type of license plate frame I want. It's like Mercedes' Magic Sky Control but for the license plate. A little bit of money, but definitely 007 status.

The Front License Plate will have to be mounted below on over the grill mesh, the bumper blocking airflow! ARGH.

In OC, I observed like every 7th car had no front license plate..

Here's where I got my tow hook bracket: http://www.gominigo.com/NHLPB-main.html

I got the offset bracket that allowed it to be mounted out of the way of the foglight without blocking too much of the grille.

I'm also in LA. I've received 3 of these in the past 2 years. Two were waiting for me when I returned from trips after (stupidly) parking my car at LAX. I swear half of LAPD just drives in circles in LAX parking garages, handing out tickets to parked cars.

I see it as a $75 fee for not having to drill holes in the front of my cl63. Fine with me

I have also received a "Fix It" ticket for having my front windows (in a CL) tinted. I don't remember how much that one was, but it's not like I am going to peel tint off my front windows and then leave the back windows tinted; there's no b-pillar it would look ridiculous. That was a few years ago in my previous CL, though. Paid it & left the tint on.

LAPD is steppin' it up now that the stoplight cams have all been deactivated. Anything to keep them away from patrolling the streets for criminals. I realize my car is a huge threat when it's parked at LAX (while I am overseas) with no front plate.

That's why I love AZ, no front plate needed.

Now that said I love my custom plate (Look left) so I may just mount one to show it off!

Sorry about the ticket. Left Cali 8 years ago and never looked back!
