How to remove glove box button?

I have a 2003 CL55 with wear on the button that releases the glove box latch. Do I have to replace the whole mechanism or will just the cover come off?

It almost looks like you can fit a flat head screw driver under the cover and pop it off. Any information would be great. The new mechanism through Mercedes is $117.

Mine is messed up also where did u get the new?

Just remove the glove box completely you will see how it's attached then. 4 screws inside hold the glove box. 2 on the top 2 on the bottom.
