03 CL55 AMG trunk will not open at all
After reviewing some old posts on pse pump malfunction, I came to the conclusion my pump was slowly going bad; do to my driver side door soft close and dynamic seat functions not not working. I removed the pump and and completed a pressure test and re-installed it the exact way prior to it being removed. Pulled the correlating fuse to reset the circuit and completed an ops check. The driver side door and seat functions still inop along with a knew problem. Trunk will not open with key fob, switch on driver side door, nor using the actual metal key bar; driver side door will not lock now. The big question is how can I gain access to my trunk to ensure I do not have any wire connectors plugged in backwards...if thats even possible considering most connectors have guides that only allow you to plug in one way.

If you put the valet key in the lock and I believe turn in and press 45 degrees counterclockwise, you can then release the trunk lock.

do you have a fully charged battery?

I was able to open mine with the valet key and a totally dead battery (don't ask) so it shouldn't matter that you may have installed the pump wrong. Like OCK said, turn it 45, not 90* and push up on the release.

It can also be your vacuum assist on the truck locking unit.
This assist is what pops the trunk to allow the PSE (Pump) to start its lifting procedure.
The Vacuum assist works like the door vacuum assist and suffers the same plastic cap popping off issues.

If the vallet key does not work amd your battery is charged, then getting in the trunk will be a problem. Some dealers remove the outer trunk trim on the E class to get inside the trunk, when people have locked their keys in there. Not sure if that works on the CL class though.

i believe i saw a video on you tube where you take off your license plate and unscrew, or drill out rivets. this pulls out the plate panel. you then access the trunk lock through the opening. do a search on you tube, or ask a tech at the dealership.
