Thinking about buying a 08' CL63 with 55k...
I have an E55 that may have seen better days. The car has been a total blast & I have had so much fun. I just wanna change up a bit. I had a Eurocharged ECU tune & a few cooling upgrades.
What can I expect with this 2008 CL63 in terms of power comparison to my E55? I know its a bit heavier & bigger but would it be terribly noticeable? This one has been dealer serviced also.
What about mechanical issues or things to worry about?
Thanks for your input in advance, I'm so sick about this CL, I hope I dont rush & buy it. I'm really infatuated with it at this point which is not good!

I did pretty much the same thing earlier this year. My E55 was fairly modded (Kleemann ECU, pulley, headers, cams) probably around 600/600 hp & tq.
I really like the CL better, but the power difference is very noticeable. I certainly can't say it doesn't have much torque, but with the weight difference & less torque it's not exactly neck snapping.
I just had an ECU, Kleemann headers & ROW airbox put on which theoretically puts it around 560-570 hp & around 485-490 tq. I also replaced all the rotors with Racing Brake 2pc rotors & saved several lbs of unsprung weight. It's certainly improved, but still not a monster.
On a CL, you're really going to need forced induction 600/65 or Weistec/Kleemann superchargers if you want to be comparable to a modded 55k.
I don't regret my choice at all, but wanted to give you my assessment after doing the same thing.

I wouldn't exactly call a CL "practical", compared to any four door, it's not. Also, the CL has a smaller trunk than an E class by a noticeable margin. It's a much different car, and while substantially bigger up front & on the road it's not practical for just tossing a bag in the back seats.
