Right hand mirror gets stuck

Hey guys!

Not being a very practical person I don't know how to tackle this issue.

Sometimes (I'd say 1 out of 10) my right hand mirror gets stuck and doesn't extend like it's supposed to after the car has been unlocked.
I have to carefully persuade it to come out by pushing it.
The mirror then operates as normal for X numbers of locks / unlocks.
Is this a common problem with the w216? Could me manually turning the mirror damage anything? What is the right course of action? Is this a DIY or do I need to hand it over to MB?

Thank you.

I started to have the same issue on mine too. It folded in allright, but wouldn't fold out at all unless helped by hand.
Took it to the MB shop and they diagnosed a faulty motor, but after this, it started to work ok (they never said it was repaired, so I guess that they touched something around) and now it's only lazy, starts folding out but at abt 3/4 of being in place, it stops. A gentle touch to the "fold in" button, then again for "fold out" and bingo.
Sooner or later it'll die, so a new motor will be installed. Not sure how to DIY though...

just disable that feature and leave the mirror extended all the time.

Surely is an option, but not always convenient. Sometimes folding the mirrors is needed if space is tight.
Regardless, a malfunction needs to be addressed sooner or later. I want my car to behave as it was meant to, till the last feature, even if I don't remember that it came with...
