Shredded serpentine belt cause damage to ABC pump?
I was told that my 2 month old Mercedes ABC pump is failing because rubber from serpentine belt damaged it. Can rubber from serpentine belt (shredded after pulley failure) possibly get into ABC pump and cause its failure? I thought ABC is a closed system? 2003 CL55 AMG

Nothing is impossible, but this sounds as unlikely as being hit by lightning. My money says its a vain excuse.

Sounds like BS and they don't want to warranty it.
