Opinions needed - possible move from CL to E
Hi Everyone,
Was contacted by my MB Dealer last week about 2015 E63S that was never registered and has 26 miles.
Original MSRP of the car was 105K and I can purchase it for 80K; unfortunately will have to let go of my beloved 2010 CL63 with 32K miles...
E63S is a monster with modern electronics and is real fun, but I love the craftsmanship, fit and finish and exclusivity of the CL...
I know, first world problems...
Please help me make a decision
Thank you!

Interesting you bring this up... I purchased a 2014 e63s last week. Still have my CL65 to compare it too... I've not driven a CL63 but here are my thoughts vs the CL65:
1) It rides way rougher then the 65. I was a bit disappointed about this at first.
2) It handles much better then the 65. Feels light and responsive. Goes where you point it.
3) It launches like an animal. Even though my 65 is more powerful the E takes it to 60... The 65 get's lot's of wheel spin and the E get's none (as you would expect). Before the comment's roll in I raced my CL 6 times. Three with me driving and a buddy driving the E and 3 the other way around. I didn't do any high speed rolls as I got tagged going 120 in the CL a couple weeks ago.
4) The updated electronics are really nice.
5) The E is not as 'effortless' at speed as the CL. With the CL you punch it and it goes. With the E you may or may not need to downshift and it has noticeable turbo lag. The CL has blow away power from a roll. The E is fast (faster than it feels) but it requires effort.
6) I personally like the looks of the CL better.
7) The E has more tuning options.
Bottom line. I will likely be selling my CL at some point in the future. I just don't think I will drive it much anymore (especially once I get the E tuned).
Given the mixed bag above some may wonder why I would sell the CL. I don't want to leave it sitting around for long periods of time. It has 78k miles on it. I spent ~12k in upgrades and repairs this past year. It has no warrantee. My kids/wife like the four door better

Love to hear your thoughts on the C63. I almost did the exact same thing. If I wasn't dumping money into the CL like a landfill I would have ;^). Good luck with the new ride and keep us posted!

So far I am in love with C63 , it's definitely a different animal.
C63 is raw and gives me the feeling that I am "inside the machine"; CL is a lot more refined but feels like a luxo-barge.
Personally I would not be able to live with C63 as my daily, that's where the CL actually shines.
