BMW i3
New member looking to choose CL55, CL600 or?

Hi guys, I am new to this forum but not new to forums. I currently sell watches on all of the watch forums like Timezone and TRF but I am in a pickle. I own a BMW i3 electric which I absolutely love. I have not been to a gas station in forever and my car has crazy good torque from 0-40mph and is by far the easiest car I have ever driven.

Now, I want to get a CL, SL or E55 to play with. Mainly will be a weekend car for dinners or possible road trips from AZ to CA. I have found a couple cars I like in a 2003 CL55 with about 68K miles for $13.5k and a CL600 with 95k miles 2003 for $11k clean cars both one owner.

My real problem is issues. I hear people say the CL600 is way worse maintenance wise than the CL55. The cars are cheap enough if there is a real problem I will bump it but I want to have fun driving and not worry about trouble when I take a trip.

I am also considering E55 from 04 - 06. Anyway, if anyone has advice I would appreciated it much!

Thank you - if anyone has something nice for sale email or text me pj2smart gmail and 6027155476

I just purchased an 05 CL600 with 45K and a 4/50K exclusionary warranty. It wasn't cheap, but I'm well aware of the costs of ownership and did not want to pay out of pocket. I specifically wanted a coupe. I've owned E Classes and I owned an S55 with the same motor as the CL55 you are considering. I love the ride and quiet power of the V12TT. The CL55 sounds great but is not nearly as fast or luxurious. Cost of ownership may be cheaper, but the big ticket items like the ABC suspension will still be there. I spent over $5K troubleshooting that on my S55.

Stash away some money and get a good pre-purchase inspection because there cars cost much more than their purchase price when it's time to repair.

Your worst nightmare...
I would do the Cl600 any day. If you find a clean one do it.
