Best tuner for 91 octane, Weistec, Rentech or EC ?
Little on the fence. Realizing a lot of tuners use 93 octane I am a little unsure how well the tunes would work over here. There is a decent chance Eurocharge will be coming near me for a tune day in a couple weeks. I was leaning towards that since it would be an actual dyno tune.
Looking at the advertised numbers Weistec looks really good. 138 WHP and 186 WTQ tuned on 91 octane. Pretty impressive. 160 WHP and 199 WTQ with the filter upgrade.
I know EC and Rentech have a bog following. Seems like an actrual dyno tune would give the best results and I know EC really knows their stuff. If they cant come out I will probably go Weistec I suppose.
Now Rentech has huge numbers advertised.... guessing 93 octane. 669 HP @ 5,550 RPM; 734 LB-FT @ 2,750-4,000 RPM
Still on fence about downpipes too. Videoes I have seen all sound really loud. Cool but loud. If a resonator could be added to tone it down a bit without any power loss it might be worth considering. one vender told me expect to see around 50 WHP and 50 WTQ with downpipes and tune for them.
Other older threads I have seen some people showing only 10-15 ..... Turbos usually really love free exhaust.
Decisions decisions......
